Wide receiver Tre Jackson decommits from South Carolina
Wide receiver Tre Jackson of Baton Rouge, La., will not be signing with South Carolina, he announced Monday.
“Would like to humbly announce I will not be attending South Carolina,” he said via Twitter. “To me and my families privacy no interviews until after my decision.”
The decision was not unexpected.
Jackson, from University Lab school in Baton Rouge, La., originally committed to the Steve Spurrier staff on July 18 but had little contact with Will Muschamp and the new coaches.
He took an official visit to Kansas State over the weekend. He also has visited Tulane.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Jackson was considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports Composite, which factors in all networks. His father, Jack, played for Spurrier at Florida in the 1990s.
USC now has 23 commits in the 2016 class, three of them at receiver.
