Two South Carolina targets back on the open market
The South Carolina football staff had targeted more than a few already-committed prospects. Days before National Signing Day, two notable ones are free agents once more.
Wide receiver Korey Banks out of Tyrone, Ga., announced Monday he decommitted from North Carolina, and soon after, defensive tackle Aaron Thompson from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., tweeted he’s no longer a Maryland pledge. The Gamecocks are believed to be heavily in the mix for both recruits.
I've decided to decommit from Maryland at this time to continue to weigh my options. Thanks again. pic.twitter.com/0XoVSgOl01

Banks had previously said he was headed for a signing day decision despite his commitment to UNC. The 6-foot, 170-pound three-star prospect has an Alabama offer, plus Michigan and Tennessee among a long list. He had 61 receptions for 813 yards and six scores as a senior.
Thompson’s top offers included Clemson, LSU and Tennessee. The three-star committed to Maryland on Jan. 21 but said his decision was coming down signing day despite that.
