Gamecocks land big commitment from DT Stephon Taylor
South Carolina added a big piece to its 2016 signing class on Wednesday.
Defensive tackle Stephon Taylor of New Orleans announced he would sign with the Gamecocks during an early-morning ceremony at his school, McDonogh 35.
He also considered LSU, Florida State, Texas and Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Taylor is considered a four-star prospect by ESPN, 247Sports and Scout.
He’s the 16th-best prospect in the state of Louisiana and 26th-best defensive tackle in this class, according to 247Sports’ Composite ranking that factors in all networks.
