Austin Connor picked up his first in-state offer Thursday, and it was from the hometown school.

South Carolina offered the Dutch Fork junior receiver Thursday. It is the fourth one for Connor, who also has offers from East Carolina, Virginia Tech and Dartmouth.

Gamecocks assistant Bryan McClendon is handling Connor’s recruiting.

“I didn’t commit yet, I’m taking my time,” Connor told SportsTalk’s Phil Kornblut. “They are in my top three. They are offering me as an athlete, a receiver and a defensive back. They are up there but I don’t have a favorite. The offer was big to me, really big.”

The 6-foot, 180-pound receiver made a visit to USC and Virginia Tech for their junior days last month. Connor also visited Miami for track and field.

Connor finished second in the 200-yard dash and fifth in the 100 at last year’s Class 4A state meet. On the football field, he had a breakout junior year with 30 catches for 805 yards and five touchdowns.

Connor also plans to visit Duke on Monday and Wake Forest on March 18 for spring practices. He also said he visit USC again but isn’t sure when.
