South Carolina offers middle school QB
South Carolina has offered Class of 2020 quarterback Drew Pyne, he reported Thursday on his Twitter page.
Pyne (6-1, 170) is a pro-style quarterback from New Canaan, Conn., and is wrapping up eighth grade. He also holds offers from Florida State and South Alabama.
According to a Bleacher Report article when Florida State offered Pyne: “He led Pop Warner’s New England regional champion (New Fairfield Falcons) to the national title tournament last season.”
The trend of offering eighth-graders picked up steam last year. The previous USC coaching staff a year ago offered scholarships to two Atlanta-area eighth-grade standouts: linebacker Owen Pappoe and athlete Dominick Blaylock.
So blessed and thankful to receive an offer from South Carolina! An unbelievable place! #Spursup pic.twitter.com/HV87Q9MDP9
