Top USC QB target drops in at Gamecocks camp
Gamecocks quarterback target Dakereon Joyner was at USC on Friday to watch campers according to Hale McGranahan of SECCountry. He announces June 18 for USC or N.C. State.
Notes:
▪ Montgomery defensive back Edward Johnson (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) of Montgomery, Ala., visited South Carolina on Thursday and is hopeful for an offer from the Gamecocks.
"I love the Gamecocks,” Johnson said. “That was one of the best visits I been to. They like my highlights and they said I'm a playmaker, and yes, they probably are going to offer."
Johnson said USC joins Auburn and Mississippi State at the top of his list. He has been to Auburn and will visit Mississippi State next Saturday. He's also been to Tennessee Tech, Troy, UAB and Morgan State.
▪ South Carolina tight end target Gavin Schoenwald of Nashville plans to visit the Gamecocks on June 17. He also plans to take an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt at some point. He's looking at late July or early August for his decision.
