Atlanta defensive end commits to Gamecocks
USC coach Will Muschamp remains hot on the recruiting trail, gaining his fifth commitment in less than a week Wednesday night with a pledge from defensive end Kingsley Enagbare (6-foot-4, 260 pounds) of Hapeville, Ga.
Enagbare gives the Gamecocks 16 commitments for the 2018 class and the fourth from the state of Georgia. He’s also the first defensive end to commit for the class.
Enagbare chose the Gamecocks from a favorites list that also included Penn State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, N.C. State, East Carolina, Ole Miss, Wake Forest and Illinois. He narrowed his decision to USC, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Penn State.
Enagbare made his decision a few days after visiting the Gamecocks for their social gathering of top prospects. He also recently visited Georgia. He visited USC last weekend for the Gamecocks’ social gathering for top recruiting targets.
USC is hopeful of doing more damage in the state of Georgia in the next days and weeks. The Gamecocks lead for defensive back Jonathan Gipson of Hoschton, with his commitment announcement set for Sunday. They are in the final three for defensive back Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta and hold a slight lead for wide receiver Josh Vann of Tucker. Horn and Vann are on commitment watch as well.
