Georgia linebacker plans closer look at USC

Linebacker Elysee Mbem-Bosse (6-3, 232) of Ellenwood, Ga., recently was offered by South Carolina and has interest in the Gamecocks, though he doesn’t have them in his top eight yet.

That group is Wake Forest, NC State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Michigan, Alabama, Auburn and Oregon, in no particular order.

Mbem-Bosse has visited Wake Forest, Auburn, Alabama, NC State and Tennessee. He’s not visited USC but is interested enough to do so this summer.

“They’ve told me what they are really about,” Mbem-Bosse said. “What they are about is trying to recruit some of the best guys who can come in because they are kind of short at the linebacker spot. They are pushing people into the NFL and they have great academics.”

Asked if the Gamecocks could work their way into his short list, Mben-Bosse replied, “We’ll have to sit back and watch.”

Mben-Bosse plays both inside and outside linebacker. Last season he had 87 tackles with 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.
