Elite tailback prospect, two QBs visit Gamecocks
Class of 2019 running back Quavaris Crouch of Charlotte had a monster junior season in helping his Harding University team to a state championship.
He rushed for 3,246 yards and 33 touchdowns. As a linebacker he recorded 51 tackles and 14 sacks. Everyone in the country wants him, and Saturday he watched South Carolina’s bowl practice.
“It was great,” Crouch said. “I got to see them practice, talk to some players and it was just a family atmosphere. Great coaches. They’re really building something.”
Crouch has named USC, Clemson, Alabama, Michigan and Stanford as his early favorites. His brother is signing with N.C. State and his teammate is USC offensive line target Jovaughn Gwyn.
Gwyn took an official visit with the Gamecocks this weekend and is expected to sign Wednesday with either USC or N.C. State.
Notes
▪ Class of 2019 QB Garrett Shrader of Charlotte was among the prospects at USC's practice Saturday, as was 2020 QB Ridge Jacobs of Jacksonville.
▪ Defensive back Jaycee Horn of Alpharetta, Ga., was at USC’s practice Saturday after taking his official visit with the Gamecocks the previous weekend. He has named USC, Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State as his top schools at this point. He has not said when he’ll sign.
USC defensive back Keisean Nixon tweeted this photo of Horn at practice:
