Former instate hoops standout plans USC visit this week

Class of 2016 small forward/combo guard Deriante Jenkins, the former Lake Marion standout who now attends prep school in Orlando, is back home this week for spring break and he plans to visit South Carolina and Clemson.

Jenkins (6-6) said he has Clemson down for Wednesday and USC Thursday, though that could change because of his AAU practice Thursday in Spartanburg.

Jenkins has an offer from Clemson and as been favoring the Tigers since getting the offer last December. He also has offers from East Carolina, Houston, New Mexico, South Florida and Virginia Tech. USC and Tennessee also are showing interest.

Jenkins averaged over 20 points per game this past season and has seen his stock rise considerably in the past few months.
