Offensive lineman Josh Ball of Fredericksburg, Va., visited South Carolina during his spring break earlier this month, and he has the Gamecocks well up on his list.
Ball said he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to USC April 10 and got a good feel for the school and the program.
“It was awesome,” Ball said. “I loved seeing Coach Spurrier, meeting him, and talking to Coach Elliott and getting to know him on a more personal level and talking to him more. I loved everything there. It’s definitely at the top of my list with some other schools.”
Ball has also visited Penn State and Virginia and will visit West Virginia this weekend for the spring game.
Ball is up to 22 offers, with Florida State his newest. He met Tuesday with recruiters from Florida State, Pittsburgh, Kentucky and Maryland. Virginia Tech also has been in. He’s expecting USC to visit as well.
At the top of the list with Ball right now are USC, Penn State, Florida State, Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. He also picked up a recent offer from Miami and wants to visit there along with some of the other offering schools.
Ball said he would like to make his decision sometime during the middle of summer.
