South Carolina’s Wolford makes third visit to offensive line target

South Carolina offensive line coach Eric Wolford has gone hard after offensive lineman Jakai Moore (6-foot-6, 293 pounds) of Nokesville, Va. and his work has paid off with the Gamecocks being ranked among the schools standing out the most with him at this point.

“He’s been talking to me about how I can impact the team,” said Moore who plays offensive guard. “He’s just constantly talking to me, making me feel like I’m really wanted. He likes the way I run block because I go hard to the whistle. My footwork isn’t bad, it’s alright. It’s something I’ve been working on. I just feel like my effort and size stand out. I’m a big guy that can move.”

Moore said his trainer first contacted Wolford on his behalf and the relationship has developed from there.

“I’m the type of person who has to visit but the way Coach Wolford is talking to me, he makes it seem I can be a part of the team and be developed for the NFL. He can develop me,” Moore said.

Wolford has been in three times to check on Moore and he plans to visit USC in March. Virginia, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Wake Forest and Old Dominion also have been by. He also plans to visit Penn State, Wake Forest and Old Dominion. He said along with USC, Penn State and Virginia Tech are standing out the most to him.

Moore said he’ll probably sign in December but he’s not sure if he’ll graduate early.
