Rick Sandidge recaps ‘really good time’ on USC visit, shares Muschamp’s message

Shrine Bowl defensive lineman Rick Sandidge of Concord, N.C., made his official visit to South Carolina over the weekend.

It was his latest exposure to the Gamecocks. He has taken several unofficial visits and he watched several of their games this season. His mother, a USC grad, and other family members joined him on the visit.

“Just had a really good time and got to mix with the coaches and the players. Had a really good time,” Sandidge said. “No goals really, just building that relationship really.”

Sandidge said he had the chance to sit down again with Will Muschamp and the message was the same he’s heard repeatedly from the Gamecock head coach.

“He said I’m a priority multiple times,” Sandidge said. “They kept on saying that. He said I’m going to get playing time as a freshman.”

Sandidge said he was hosted by D.J. Wonnum and Kobe Smith.

Sandidge said the head coaches will be in his home this week. He will make his decision this week and notify the school but he won’t announce his decision until National Signing Day signing day.

He said USC, Georgia and North Carolina are still in it, and he did not indicate any separation among the three at this point.
