USC hoops target Eric Cobb taking one final official visit

Class of 2015 power forward Eric Cobb of Jacksonville will take one more official visit this coming weekend, most likely to Massachusetts, before making his decision by May 18, his coach said Sunday.

Cobb (6-10) made an official visit to South Carolina the week before last and also has visited Seton Hall unofficially.

Cobb attends a prep school in Baltimore and has been focusing on his academics. He has one more week of classes and then final exams. His coach at St. Francis Prep in Baltimore, Nick Myles, said he spoke last week with USC coach Frank Martin and assistant Matt Figger, and he likes the Gamecocks’ chances with Cobb at this point.

“I feel good about South Carolina and they are definitely at the top of his list,” the coach said.

Cobb originally committed to Kansas State without visiting Manhattan. He decommitted from the Wildcats in April.
