Blue chip defensive lineman visiting South Carolina today
The month-long football recruiting dead period ended as of midnight Tuesday and many recruits will hit the road for a final visit or two before their own practice starts. One of those was Largo, Fla., defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrells, who returned to South Carolina on Wednesday.
He also visited USC in June for a camp and has had the Gamecocks among his favorites with Oregon, LSU, Alabama and Florida State. The former Florida commitment has set Aug. 27 for his commitment announcement.
The 6-foot-2, 292-poud lineman made 58 tackles, 17 1/2 for loss, six sacks and nine QB hurries in 10 games.
Notes:
▪ USC defensive back target Jaydon Hill will visit Florida this weekend. He visited the Gamecocks for a camp and an unofficial visit in mid June. Tennessee also has been one of his favorites.
▪ Thomaston, Ga., defensive lineman Travon Walker committed to Georgia on Tuesday night. USC, Clemson, Alabama and Auburn were his other finalists.
