Bellflower, Ca., cornerback Chris Steele told Ryan Young of Southern Cal’s Rivals site South Carolina no longer is under consideration. He will announce Saturday at the All-American Bowl.

That leaves Southern Cal, Florida, UCLA, Oregon and Oklahoma on his short list. In the article Steele said he thinks everyone will be “shocked” by his decision. He did not sign a letter of intent with any school in December but he did sign financial aid papers with three of them.

Gamecocks commit Ryan Hilinski had been recruiting him hard through much of the summer and fall as both play in the same powerhouse league.
