Despite a recent offer from Texas Tech, Atlanta cornerback Dequanteous Watts said his decision is still between Oregon and South Carolina. He has officials to both coming up, and in home visits are now taking place. Oregon cornerback coach Donte Williams was in on Saturday.
“It was great,” Watts said. “He just told me how bad they want me an all that good stuff. He showed me the best academic standpoint for the school on an off the field. He said that if I come and put the work in I’ll be an instant starter.”
Gamecocks recruiter Bryan McClendon will visit this week according to Watts, possibly Sunday. Watts is scheduled for his official visit to USC this coming weekend. He is scheduled for a visit to Oregon the following weekend.
Watts had been committed to UCF, but decommitted after visiting USC during the season.
The 6-foot-2, 171-pounder had 32 tackles with six interceptions and 15 pass break ups this season. He returned to picks for touchdowns and had two kickoff returns for scores.
