Parade of coaches dropping in on local blue chip Gamecocks targets
Recruiters have been through or are headed to Hammond Academy to check in on 2020 defensive end Jordan Burch and 2020 defensive lineman Alex Huntley.
Clemson’s Brandon Streeter was in Monday. Georgia outside linebackers coach Dan Lanning also was in. LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is in today. Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt may be in on Friday. Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley and assistant Shane Beamer plan to visit next week.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney may be at one of Burch’s basketball games next week. Huntley is visiting USC Saturday.
Burch had 62 tackles, 14 for loss and 10 sacks, while running for 680 yards and scoring 25 times for the state champion SkyHawks. Huntley had 48 tackles, 16 for loss and seven sacks.

▪ South Carolina offered 2021 Shelby, N.C. defensive end Jack Hollifield (6-foot-3, 225 pounds). He’s the brother of Virginia Tech lineabacker Dax Hollifield.
▪ Gamecocks offered 2022 offensive lineman Fisher Anderson (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) of Franklin, Tenn. USC is the first to offer him.
▪ Atlanta cornerback Dequanteous Watts, a Gamecocks target, was offered by Syracuse. He will take an official visit to South Carolina this weekend.
▪ The Gamecocks offered 2020 linebacker Desmond Tisdol of Rochelle, Ga. It’s his first offer.
“That was my very first offer so I’m still shocked right now. I like Coach Hutzler,” Tisdol said.
He is also being recruited by schools as a running back.
▪ The Gamecocks offered 2020 Hollywood, Fla., safety Jerrold Pough (6-foot, 172 pounds).
▪ USC offered 2021 Hallandale, Fla., linebacker Gaethan Bernadel (6-foot-1, 210 pounds).
▪ South Carolina offered 2022 Miami defensive end Shemar Stewart (6-foot-4, 215 pounds).
