Gamecocks blue chip target starting to tire of recruiting process
Winter Park, Fla., defensive lineman Jaquaze Sorrells visited Penn State last weekend and will wrap up his official visits this weekend at Alabama. He’s also been to South Carolina. Those are his final three and coaches from all three are getting in this week for a final face-to-face meeting.
“He simply said, ‘Oh, it was nice.’ He didn’t rave. He didn’t elaborate, he just said it was nice, it was OK,” Winter Park assistant coach Kit Hill said Sorrells told him about the Penn State visit. “(Coach) Franklin came through Monday evening visiting with him a little bit and then they headed over to go see mom because mom went on this visit with him. They were around 45 minutes to an hour Monday I guess just visiting. Not hammering, just chit-chatting and visiting more than anything.”
Alabama coach Nick Saban made his visit Wednesday along with his new defensive coordinator and defensive line coach. And new Gamecocks defensive line coach John Scott is due in Thursday.
Sorrells plans to carry his decision out to Signing Day on Wednesday and Hill said he’s not indicating any favorite at this point.
“I think this whole process is starting to where on him,” Hill said. “I think in a sense he likes the attention but at this stage it’s gotten overwhelming.”
