Gamecocks showing interest in multi-positional Florida player
Valrico, Florida 2021 athlete Charles Montgomery returned to South Carolina on Friday with some of his 7-on-7 teammates. He also visited last month following a tournament in Myrtle Beach. Montgomery said the Gamecocks offered him last year and like him on offense as a slot or all-purpose back.
His contact primarily has been with Travaris Robinson and he’s looking forward to talking with him and Will Muschamp.
“I’m gonna talk to them about committing,” Montgomery said. Asked if he thinks they are ready to take a commitment from him, Montgomery replied, “Not sure, but we will see.”
Montgomery said he and his teammates will spend the night in Columbia then leave Saturday morning for a tournament in Tallahassee.
Last season, according to MaxPreps stats, Montgomery rushed for 864 yards and 13 touchdowns, caught 16 passess for 399 yards and 3 touchdowns, passed for 220 yards and three touchdowns and had 1,483 total yards.

▪ Hammond defensive end Jordan Burch plans to attend South Carolina’s spring game Saturday and not the spring game according to Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated. This would mark the third straight Saturday visit to USC for Burch.
▪ Tampa offensive Cesar Reyes will be at USC Friday and staying over until tomorrow. He also plans to attend the Florida State spring game. He also has visited LSU, Florida and Kentucky and will be going to Florida State for the spring game. His offers include LSU, Kentucky, Nebraska, Maryland, West Virginia, UCF, Virginia, North Carolina, Louisville and South Florida.
▪ Running back Sam Adams of Sammamish, Washington plans to release a top 15 on Sunday. USC is one of his offers.
▪ Tampa corner D.J. Taylor planed to visit South Carolina on Friday. His offers include West Virginia, Wake Forest, USF, UCF, Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville, Illinois, Kansas State, Duke and Arizona State.
▪ Linebacker Jamarie Stewart of Fort Pierce, Florida visted the Gamecocks on Friday. His offers include Ole Miss, Minnesota and Wake Forest
▪ Seffner, Flordia 2021 wide receiver Agiye Hall planed to visit South Carolina on Friday.
