Gamecocks linebacker target brings toughness, speed. He makes his choice today

South Carolina linebacker target Mohamed Kaba of Clinton, N.C. is set to announce his college commitment Thursday at 2 p.m. Kaba visited USC for a junior day in January and was back for another visit in late March. The Gamecocks have been one of his top schools in the latter part of the process along with NC State, Tennessee, North Carolina, Duke and Oklahoma. He took an official visit to Oklahoma in April.

Gamecock linebacker coach Coleman Hutzler has been working Kaba.

“He likes my toughness, my speed,” Kaba said earlier this year. “I really like the coaches and facilities. Coach Muschamp said he likes that I read plays fast and also likes my length and size.” Kaba can also play tight end.

The Gamecocks are sitting on five commitments, the last one coming three weeks ago from WR Mike Wyman. All of their commitments thus far are on the offensive side of the ball.
