Gamecocks football hands out a batch of new offers

More offers went out from South Carolina on Friday.

The Gamecocks offered linebacker Danny Stutsman (6-foot-3 215) of Winter Garden, Florida. Texas A&M, Kansas State, Marshall, Illinois, Baylor, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and NC State are among his other offers.

He posted 110 tackles last season, 19 for loss, and was a productive offensive player as well.

USC also offered 3-star defensive end Colin Mobley (6-foot-4, 245 pounds) of Dematha High in Hyattsville, Maryland. Some of his other offers are West Virginia, Southern Cal, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Michigan, Ohio State, Virginia, Tennessee and Pitt.

Mobley played alongside current Gamecock MarShawn Lloyd.

Another USC offer went out to Columbus, North Carolina 2022 four-star wide receivers Dakota Twitty. Kentucky, Louisville, Pitt and Georgia are some of his other offers.

Twitty camped at South Carolina last summer and caught 15 touchdowns last season according to his school’s MaxPreps.

Gamecocks athlete target Kamarro Edmonds of Havelock, North Carolina committed to North Carolina.

USC offered 2022 Atlanta tight end/defensive end Holden Staes. He also has an offer from Michigan.

Pitt transfer guard Trey McGowens of Wren committed to Nebraska. USC had spoken to him.

Four-star WR Kaden Prather (6-3 210) of Germantown, Maryland named his top five over the weekend and the Gamecocks made his short list. The others on his short list are Penn State, Maryland, West Virginia and Oklahoma. Prather made an unofficial visit to USC on Jan. 21. He also visited Maryland, West Virginia and Pitt before visits were halted. Some of his other offers are LSU, Baylor, Texas A&M, Syracuse, Missouri, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan State and Boston College.

USC coach Will Muschamp on Saturday offered Myrtle Beach wide receiver JJ Jones. The Gamecocks join a long list of offers for Jones that includes North Carolina, Louisville, Penn State, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Indiana, Duke, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, NC State, Tennessee, Appalachian State, East Carolina, Mississippi State, Michigan and Kansas State. Jones also is talking with Clemson.

Marion defensive end TJ Sanders was offered by Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Duke.

Former Dorman wide receiver Jacoby Pinckney will transfer to Appalachian State from Virginia Tech.

Spartanburg kicker Will Fowler was offered by Air Force.
