A Gamecock coach helped set four-star’s college position. USC now in his top 6
South Carolina made the final six with offensive lineman Dylan Fairchild of Cumming, Georgia. The Gamecocks are joined on the list by LSU, Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee and Auburn.
In his tweet, Fairchild said his recruiting does remain open. USC was one of his early offers dating back to 2019 and he has been a strong relationship with Gamecocks’ offensive line coach Eric Wolford.
Wolford pulled him aside in a camp last June and played a role in convincing him that offensive line was likely his future college position (he played defense as a sophomore). He was part of a 5-5 team last season.
Among those schools not making the cut were Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, East Carolina, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas A&M, Virginia and North Carolina. Fairchild also is a state champion wrestler and is considered a top-175 national recruit.
