South Carolina defensive target set to announce his commitment Monday
South Carolina cornerback target Javon Bullard (5-foot-11, 165 pounds) of Milledgeville, Georgia plans to announce his commitment Monday morning.
His top list has been the Gamecocks, Georgia, Louisville, NC State, Pitt, Tennessee and West Virginia. The Gamecocks offered in May and Kyle Krantz has been leading the recruiting effort. Shortly after receiving his offer, Bullard shared his thoughts on the Gamecocks.
“South Carolina is a great program I grew up watching South Carolina,” Bullard said. “Of course they are in the SEC. When they offered it was a for real moment for me.”
The Gamecocks have one corner committed in the 2021 class. Ironically, that’s Marcellas Dial of Woodruff, but he attends Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. The Gamecocks also lead for cornerback Dontae Balfour of Starke, Florida. Bullard is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite, and he’s ranked the No 66 cornerback prospect nationally. Bullard missed five games in his junior season but still managed 78 tackles with two interceptions.
▪ One-time South Carolina cornerback target Khyree Jackson (6-foot-3, 197 pounds) of East Mississippi Community College also committed to Alabama Saturday. The Gamecocks were not in his final four which also included Oregon, Florida and Oklahoma.
▪ AC Flora defensive end Omarion Hammond committed to Georgia State.
▪ Fredericksburg, Virginia outfielder Elijah Lambros (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) committed to USC. Here’s a recent scouting report from Perfect Game:
“Big and strong athletic build. Excellent runner for his size, 6.56 in the sixty. Shows good arm strength and carry on his throws from the outfield. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance, long and extended swing with good strength at contact, has some lift and can create backspin and carry to the middle of the field.”
