After four-hour visit with USC, Putnam plans decision on Tuesday
Offensive lineman Will Putnam of Harrisburg, N.C., spent about four hours at USC Monday mostly with offensive line coach Shawn Elliott for one final look at the Gamecocks before he makes a final decision between them and Virginia Tech.
Putnam said he will have his mind made up on Tuesday by 3:00 p.m.
Putnam said the visit made everything pretty even in his mind though he said, "I kind of have a decision in my mind right now."
Putnam said this USC visit "went great, man." He spent a lot of time in the business school talking with advisers and he got a more in-depth look at the university overall. He said he also talked more in depth with Elliott about the offensive line.
Putnam plans to call to his Virginia Tech recruiter on Monday night. He also will talk with his football and basketball coaches for their input.
"I just left South Carolina and they are still fresh on my mind," Putnman said. "When I get home and sit there and think about it tonight and get zero sleep as I toss and turn in bed about a decision, we'll see who ends up pulling out on the leaderboard. I kind of have a decision in mind right now, but I don't want to say it and then fully change my mind."
