OL target Pete Leota: More visits likely before decision
Offensive lineman Pete Leota of Asheville attended South Carolina’s recruit pool party last Friday and left Columbia with the Gamecocks his favorite ahead of North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
It also appeared Leota was moving toward a final decision perhaps as early as this week. But Leota on Monday said he is not making a decision just yet because he has more recruiting work to do.
“My parents want to go see one more school,” Leota said. “We’re going to visit Virginia Tech and maybe North Carolina. I’m not sure when.”
Leota has been to both schools before but his mother has not yet seen Virginia Tech, so that visit will be primarily for her. Leota said USC commitments C.J. Freeman and Will Putnam have been in touch with him, as have coaches Deke Adams and Steve Spurrier Jr.
The Gamecocks continue to lead for him, he said.
