Gamecocks holding firm in Louisiana defender’s top group

Defensive end Travez Moore of Bastrop, La., has a top four of South Carolina, TCU, LSU and Charlotte, with the Horned Frogs holding a slight lead over the rest.

He and receiver teammate Isaiah Graham plan to take official visits to USC together. At this point it looks like those visits will occur the weekend of the LSU game Oct 10.

Moore (6-3, 230) said the only other official visit he plans to take is to TCU. He will go to LSU for the season-opening game for an unofficial visit. He said he doesn’t feel the need for an official visit to LSU because he visits there so much.

Moore said he talked over social media with USC recruiter Deke Adams Sunday.

“He was asking me about my game (Friday),” Moore said. “He’s still interested in me coming to South Carolina. He’s been talking to me about defensive end and tight end. I’ll play wherever they want me to play.”

Moore added that while he’s never been to USC and is still learning about the Gamecocks, he’s getting a good feeling from Adams.

“We’ve got an understanding with each other,” he said. “They show a lot of concern about my family.”

Moore said he will announce his decision Oct. 9, which is the night of his homecoming game. He had three tackles and one sack in his team’s opener last week.
