USC target Pete Leota has decision in mind
Offensive lineman Pete Leota of Asheville, N.C., has set 11:30 a.m. Thursday to announce his college decision between South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Leota plans to make the announcement on his high school field. Leota visited both schools for their home openers, Virginia Tech against Ohio State and Kentucky against USC. Those trips gave him one final chance to compare and contrast and allowed him to make a clear final choice.
“I feel great about my decision,” Leota said. “Overall, the deciding factors were the coaches and the the football program. Both schools were great. I thought both schools were very great. It was a very hard decision, but you know it all came down to the coaches, who did I feel more connection with. I experienced many things like the fans, and also I experienced the great atmosphere of gameday. Both schools had such great fans.”
Some of Leota’s other offers were Virginia, East Carolina, North Carolina, Boston College and Wake Forest. He also visited Virginia Tech for the spring game and he camped at USC in July.
Leota has not informed the schools yet of his decision but he plans to do so sometime on Wednesday.
