Tailback C.J. Freeman declares himself a ‘soft commit’ with Gamecocks

Running back C.J. Freeman of Greensboro, N.C., confirmed Sunday night he will take his official visit to South Carolina this coming weekend.

He is a Gamecocks commitment and is coming off a visit to Louisville. He is holding to his commitment at this point, to some degree, but he wants to see how things go this weekend on his visit.

“The visit was great,” Freeman said. “I liked the coaches, the atmosphere and the campus was one of the nicest I’ve seen so far. I’m still committed to South Carolina, but with a new coach and possibly staff changes, I won’t know how I will feel til I visit them Saturday. I would say I’m a soft commit.”

Freeman has also taken official visits to Wisconsin and Georgia Southern. He was also highly impressed with the Badgers after his visit there.
