Defensive end Sadarius Hutcherson of Huntingdon, Tenn., is another South Carolina target who could pull the lever on a decision Monday. He plans to talk with his parents Monday and is considering announcing a commitment to South Carolina or Memphis with the Gamecocks holding the edge right now. However, he still plans to take other official visits even with a commitment.

Hutcherson was offered by the previous Gamecocks staff, and Shawn Elliott has stayed on him through the transition to Muschamp. Hutcherson talked to Muschamp for the first time by phone Friday.

“He told me my scholarship from South Carolina is still on the table,” Hutcherson said. “He told me he wants me to be a Gamecock. He said you don’t find many big, athletic guys in my area (between Nashville & Memphis). They are my top school and everything.”

Illinois and Arizona State are two other schools Hutcherson is considering. He is scheduled for an official visit to USC Jan. 16 and Memphis the following weekend.

Hutcherson said the Gamecocks like him as a defensive end, where he had 45 tackles and six sacks this season, as well as tight end.
