USC commit Pete Leota shuts down recruitment
South Carolina offensive line commitment Pete Leota of Asheville, N.C., has shut down his recruiting and will not take any more visits.
Leota (6-5, 290) took his official visit to USC last weekend.
“My decision to South Carolina is final,” he said. “Loved coach Muschamp and his staff, family loved him and I decided it’s best if I don’t take any visits.”
He had been looking at Wake Forest, North Carolina, East Carolina and Virginia Tech for possible visits.
Leota in September committed to USC over Virginia Tech. He visited both schools for their home openers, Virginia Tech against Ohio State and Kentucky against USC.
Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott nicknamed him “El Toro” after Leota’s performance at the Gamecock Showcase camp in July.
