USC receiver target Korey Banks facing signing day decision
If wide receiver Korey Banks of Atlanta bases his final decision Wednesday on the quality of food at South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama, the Gamecocks win hands down.
Banks took his official visit to USC over the weekend and while several things stood out, he loved the food.
“They fed me almost nonstop,” Banks said. “My stomach almost busted. Every campus you’re going to see a million dollar campus, a half-million dollar weight room. It ultimately comes down to your relationship with the people. Me and coach (Muschamp) have a pretty good relationship. I met Coach Roper for the first time and I kind of picked his mind on what he’s going to do with the offense. Coach Muschamp told me he wanted my speed on the perimeter for speed sweeps and the deep ball.”
Banks has been committed to North Carolina but is definitely reconsidering things with USC, the Tar Heels and Alabama his final three. He talked to USC recruiter Bryan McClendon on Sunday night, as well as his North Carolina recruiter. He plans to talk to Larry Fedora on Monday.
“Right now I’ve got to commit to thinking,” Banks said. “I’ve got to think this over. It’s a tough decision. All the schools in football offer the same thing. It comes down to relationships and the education as well. It comes down to where do you see yourself at.”
Banks added that the league, SEC or ACC, is irrelevant to him.
“I just want to get the ball regardless,” he said.
He is scheduled to announce his decision at his school Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.
