South Carolina has had a lot of experience with the Bowman family of Havelock, N.C., in recent years.

Michael Bowman was a highly prized wide receiver prospect who committed to the Gamecocks for the 2015 class but never made it in because of legal issues.

Now, his younger brother Kyran (6-foot-2) is on the Gamecocks' recruiting board, but for basketball. Kyran, a point guard, also was a football prospect for the 2016 class and at one time was a North Carolina commitment. But basketball became number one with him and he's pursuing that for college now. And Frank Martin and the Gamecocks are starting to pursue him.

"It's high," Bowman said of the interest level between him and the Gamecocks. "Coach Evans came and saw me play. Coach Frank should be coming down this week. I'm going to visit after the season is over, and I like coach Evans."

Bowman also has offers from Boston College, East Carolina Western Kentucky, Buffalo and North Carolina Central.

This season Bowman is averaging 22 points, nine rebounds and eight assists per game.
