South Carolina offers two Class of 2017 quarterbacks
South Carolina has extended two more offers to quarterbacks for the 2017 class.
Hendon Hooker (6-4, 190) of Greensboro, N.C., and Jelani Woods (6-6, 215) of Ellenwood, Ga., both announced the offers through their Twitter pages Thursday night.
Hooker said the offer was extended Thursday night from recruiter Shawn Elliott. He did not know of any immediate plans to visit USC.
“I’m very excited about an offer,” he said. “It’s an honor to receive a scholarship offer from this prestigious institution.”
Hooker is a pro-style quarterback who plays for Dudley High in Greensboro. Notre Dame offered earlier this week. Wake Forest, NC State and Syracuse are among his other offers.
Woods also is a pro-style passer and hails from Cedar Grove High, the same school that produced current Gamecocks linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams. Among his other offers are Michigan, Louisville and South Florida.
This gives USC three quarterback offers for 2017 under Will Muschamp, including Jake Bentley (6-4, 215) of Opelika, Ala. He is the son of USC running backs coach Bobby Bentley.
