North Augusta defensive end Tre Lawson visited Florida State over the weekend and was shown a lot of love by defensive line coach Brad Lawing and head coach Jimbo Fisher. It was his first visit to Tallahassee.

"Coach Lawing showed the depth at my position and how he doesn't have a bias over like age," Lawson said. "A senior is not going to start just because he's a senior. He said if you play for me you'll have a good opportunity to get into every practice and and play in a game. I like that. He was basically telling me as long as you can perform you're going to play. Really like that because that let's me know if I go there I'm going to have the opportunity to play and not just sit out the first year. I love Coach Lawing. I stay in contact with Coach Lawing at least three or four times a week. I love Coach Fisher. I love talking to Coach Fisher as well."

Lawson will visit Clemson this coming weekend for a junior day and will go to Tennessee the following weekend. He has been to USC twice and the Gamecocks are also weighing heavily on his mind.

"Love South Carolina," he said. "Love everyone of their coaches, love about everything about Columbia, love South Carolina."

Lawson talked Saturday with USC recruiter Shawn Elliott. He plans to return to USC for a spring practice in March. He hasn't talked with Clemson recruiter Mike Reed in a couple of weeks. He's not sure if the Tigers will offer on his visit.

Lawson has offers from USC, Georgia, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Florida State, Illinois, Ole Miss, Kentucky and UNLV. He said he doesn't have a favorites list yet and won't make a decision until this coming season.
