South Florida RB Kyshaun Bryan commits to Gamecocks

Running back Kyshaun Bryan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., committed Saturday to South Carolina for the 2017 class.

Bryan (5-10, 190) committed to the Gamecocks on Saturday while in town for a prospect cookout. He also has offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Duke, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Saturday was his second visit to USC in two months. He also came in for the junior day in March. He also went to junior days at Miami and Florida State and was at Florida State’s spring game. In fact, he has made three visits each to Miami and Florida State.

Bryan said after his second USC visit that it felt like the right place for him.

“It feels like home honestly,” Bryan said. “Right when I stepped on campus a couple of weeks ago I had that feeling, so I see myself going in there as a freshman competing.”

Last season Bryan rushed for 646 yards and seven touchdowns. He had 824 rushing yards and seven scores as a sophomore. He’s the first running back to commit to the Gamecocks for 2017.

And as for concerns that Bryan might crack under the recruiting pressure from Miami and Florida State, he said not to worry.

“I am fully committed on South Carolina,” he said.

Bryan will play his senior season at south Florida powerhouse school St. Thomas Aquinas. He transferred from American Heritage in February.
