Augusta DL Tyrone Truesdell impressed at cookout with Muschamp
One of the cookout guests of Will Muschamp at South Carolina on Saturday was defensive lineman Tyrone Truesdell (6-foot-3, 325 pounds) of Augusta.
The purpose of the cookout was for Muschamp and staff to build relationships and bond with some of the top players on their recruiting board, and they apparently achieved that goal with Truesdell.
"It went pretty good," he said. "I got to spend some time with the coaches and socialize with the players and the recruits they are recruiting. They really like my highlight tape and everything they are looking for is pretty much everything I got. They were like it's just certain things they want me to critique and work on and they were like they can get me right as long as I put in the effort. I feel comfortable with them. I talk to them pretty much every day. We talk a lot about defenses and defensive fronts. They also talk to me about my grades."
Truesdell said he's also looking hard at Florida, Auburn, Louisville, Ole Miss and Oklahoma among the schools offering him. He has also visited Auburn and Georgia.
The schools standing out to him right now are USC, Florida and Auburn and he said they are all recruiting him hard, as are all the schools that have offered.
"Those are the ones that I've build a connection with so far," Truesdell said. "The rest of them I should be able to build a connection with as time goes along and once I'm able to take my official visits."
Truesdell said the coaches like him as a three or four technique and he said he will be in position to graduate early if he wants to.
Last season Truesdell totaled 90 tackles and 5 sacks.
