Gamecocks QB target Jay Urich moves closer to decision
Wren High quarterback Jay Urich has a timetable for a commitment. And the decision date is not far off.
“I’ll be making a decision in June and take some visits before then,” Urich said Thursday. “I’m not sure where yet.”
He’s also not sure of an exact date in June for the commitment. But this is his first time Urich has been somewhat definitive on a timetable other than saying “whenever I feel confident about something I will make a decision.”
South Carolina, Tennessee, Duke, Georgia Southern, Appalachian State and Boston College have been through his school this spring, and he was offered by Appalachian State on Thursday.
USC remains the most notable offer on his list, and the Gamecocks continue to emit positive vibes in his direction.
“They come down and they really like me,” Urich said. “And I like them as well.”
He also has offers from Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Furman, Eastern Kentucky, Harvard, Jacksonville State, Mercer, Jackson State, SC State, North Dakota State, Southern Miss, Wofford and East Tennessee State.
Note: USC Thursday night offered DB Ameer Speed of Jacksonville, Fla.
