JUCO DB Javien Hamilton hopes he impressed USC, Muschamp
One of the players at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi who was closely examined by South Carolina coach Will Muschamp and assistants at their camp there Sunday was defensive back Javien Hamilton (5-foot-11, 165 pounds). His only offer right now is from Texas-San Antonio but he's hoping his performance impressed Muschamp enough to earn one.
"I talked to the whole staff at the camp,” Hamilton said. “I ran a 4.43 forty, broad jumped 11 feet even and shuttled at 3.94. I did an individual workout with the defensive coach Travaris Robinson. He took me through multiple drills to see what I had to lay out on the table. Coach Muschamp and Coach Robinson were very pleases with my performance and said I was one of the best ones that did an individual workout with them. They said they will stay in touch and heavily recruit me."
The Gamecocks plan to return to Jones to scout their second game of the season.
