Running back Jalen Holston of Stockbridge, Ga., came through South Carolina’s camps earlier this month and earned an offer from Will Muschamp.

Holston (5-11, 200) said the Gamecocks will get considerable consideration.

“I like how they are really close to my family,” he said. “I’m up in Columbia a lot, so being there would be great for my family. I think I would fit perfect in their offense. They need a running back bad and I think I would be the guy to carry the load for them. They like my size , vision, ability to break tackles, the speed I have to be as big as I am, and how I’m a north-south runner.”

Holston also has offers from Duke, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Mississippi State, NC State, West Virginia and Vanderbilt. He also camped at Virginia Tech, Duke and Georgia.

He rushed for 1,503 yards last season for Stockbridge High.

Running back Chase Hayden (5-10, 185) of Collierville, Tenn., made his planned visit to USC on Saturday. His parents joined him on the visit.

Hayden told TheBigSpur after the visit that he has USC at the top of his list and a final decision could come soon.

He is scheduled to visit Arkansas Thursday and Missouri Friday, and those are the others at the top of his list. He’s also still considering Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma State and Illinois.

Running back Kyshaun Bryan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., committed to USC in April and is USC’s lone tailback pledge.

Class of 2019 tailback Jonathan Sewell of Athens, Ga., was offered by USC on Saturday.
