Top DB target Jamyest Williams focused on five schools

Defensive back Jamyest Williams, of Loganville, Ga., revealed a top-five list Sunday at The Opening via an ESPN video.

Williams at The Opening told Scout’s Chad Simmons that he plans to silently commit to his school of choice sometime before his senior season begins at Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga. He will publicly announce his decision at a later to-be-determined date, he told Simmons.

Williams visited USC in April and was at Clemson in June as a camp observer. He’s had both high on his list throughout recruiting, and both continue to work him diligently.

“They need me, they need guys and they’ve got to change their program,” Williams said of the Gamecocks. “And they’ll try to help me with my future also. I think I’ll fit their scheme well. Coach Robinson is the defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator and I know he’s going to put in a great scheme and allow defensive backs to make plays.”
