USC ‘just feels like home’ for LB target Sherrod Greene

Linebacker Sherrod Greene of Rocky Mount, N.C., was at South Carolina on Saturday for the fun of a cookout and a pool party. He said this trip, on a scale of 1 to 10, was a 10.

Greene also attended a camp at USC in June and worked out for the coaches. They liked him then and let him know Saturday they like him even more now.

“They talked about the opportunities that I have,” Greene said. “They will be losing like three seniors next year and I’ll be coming up after they’re leaving. The opportunity that I would have to play and hopefully I would be starting if I go there. And the great support staff and people all around, you can’t fail unless you actually want to. That’s what they basically told me.”

Greene (6-1, 225) said he spent most of his time talking with recruiter Coleman Hutzler, and he also talked with Will Muschamp before leaving.

“Every time I come here it just feels like at home,” he said. “My parents say they like it and I like it. It’s a great school and a great place to be at.”

Greene was at The Opening earlier this month. He has also been to Georgia, Georgia Tech and Alabama. His top four at this point are USC, Alabama, Virginia Tech and NC State, in no order.

He’s looking at January before making his decision. Before that, he’s looking at returning to USC for some games and is looking at East Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee for possible game visits.
