Gamecocks D-line commit flips pledge to Georgia
Defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt of Decatur, Ga., has flipped his commitment from South Carolina to Georgia, according to reports by 247Sports and Rivals.
Wyatt (6-3, 298) camped at USC in early June when he earned an offer from the Gamecocks. He committed soon after. At the time he said he was probably shutting down his recruiting.
Georgia, however, kept recruiting Wyatt and had him camp there last month. Wyatt at one point declared himself still committed to USC with the Gamecocks and Georgia as his co-favorites.
South Carolina now has two defensive linemen committed for the 2017 class: Javon Kinlaw, DE, Jones County JC (Miss.)/Goose Creek; and Tyreek Johnson, DE, Lakewood/Sumter.
