Watch Gamecocks star hit 71-foot shot to beat buzzer, for top play on SportsCenter

South Carolina women’s basketball point guard Ty Harris is known as a sharpshooter, but at the end of the first quarter Sunday, she hit one of her best.

With less than 2 seconds left in the period against South Dakota, she caught the inbound pass and fired a one-handed shot from three-quarters court at Colonial Life Arena, looking almost like a quarterback rolling out of the pocket. Her aim was true and didn’t even need glass as she extended USC’s lead to 25-13.

At the end of the night, it was the top play on SportsCenter.

A quick video review showed she got the shot off in time. The inbound was at the 1.3-second mark.

South Carolina led 42-29 at the half.

It’s the Gamecocks’ final nonconference game. USC will face Kentucky at Colonial Life Arena on Jan. 2.
