Staley has another Sweet 16 opponent on USC’s schedule
Dawn Staley has no fear.
South Carolina has another Sweet 16 opponent on its 2015-16 schedule, according to a release on Tuesday.
Arizona State, which lost to Florida State in the Sweet 16 in Greensboro, N.C., to prevent a matchup with the Gamecocks to go to the Final Four, will play USC on Nov. 27 in Hawaii.
Arizona State released its non-conference schedule late Tuesday. USC had already been confirmed to be in the University of Hawaii’s Thanksgiving weekend tournament but opponents weren’t announced.
The Gamecocks haven’t released their schedule. Known opponents include Arizona State, Ohio State (Nov. 13), Connecticut and Duke. They will play at Clemson on a date to be determined.
Staley told The State that USC’s home-and-home SEC opponents this year are Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Kentucky, which is the Gamecocks’ permanent opponent.
