Four-star recruit Sahnya Jah announced a college decision Thursday for Dawn Staley and the South Carolina women’s basketball team.

The 6-foot-1 wing announced the news via Instagram a few hours after Staley acknowledged a recruit’s commitment with her customary “A birdie just flew in the nest” post on Twitter.

Jah is from Maryland and is ranked the No. 45 recruit in the class in the espnW Top 100. She attended Bishop McNamara in Maryland but has transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida this season.

Staley’s Gamecocks could have a lot of roster turnover after the 2022-23 season. The Gamecocks have five traditional seniors, one super senior (Victaria Saxton) and a graduate senior (Kierra Fletcher).

Senior starters Aliyah Boston and Zia Cooke are projected to be top picks in the 2023 WNBA Draft. Four of the team’s five starters from last year’s national championship team return for this season.
