Gamecocks’ SEC Tournament history

The Gamecocks have won eight SEC Tournament titles in program history, all of which have come in the last 10 years under coach Dawn Staley.

South Carolina has an overall record of 35-25 in the SEC Tournament since the Gamecocks joined the conference in the 1991-92 season. Staley has a 32-8 record in the SEC Tournament as head coach at USC.

The Gamecocks are 16-1 in SEC Tournament games played in Greenville dating back to 2017, making Bon Secours Wellness Arena a home away from home of sorts. USC’s sole loss in that span came in the 2019 SEC quarterfinals against Arkansas.

Series history vs Oklahoma

South Carolina and Oklahoma have little history together.

The two teams have met just four times over the years. Their matchup this January was the first since a 2009 game in which Oklahoma beat the Gamecocks 75-67 in the Paradise Jam.

South Carolina dismantled Oklahoma earlier this season 101-60, giving South Carolina and Staley their first win over the Sooners in program history.

Opposing player to watch

Oklahoma is led by the dominant post presence of Raegan Beers.

Beers is nearly averaging a double-double this season with 17.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She leads Oklahoma in both categories.

The senior earned All-SEC First Team honors for her efforts this season.

Beers scored 23 points and recorded eight rebounds last time out against South Carolina.
