The early signing period for college basketball began on national signing day Wednesday.

Dawn Staley and the South Carolina women’s basketball team signed two players. The new Gamecocks will join South Carolina for the 2026-27 season.

As it stands, South Carolina WBB’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked No. 9 in the country by ESPN.

Staley could still add to the Gamecocks’ class. The early signing period runs until Nov. 19 and the regular signing period starts on April 15, per NCSA College Recruiting. Last year South Carolina had one signee in November (Ayla McDowell) and one in April (Agot Makeer).

Here’s a look at the signees.

Kelsi Andrews — Hazel Green, Alabama

Andrews committed to South Carolina on Oct. 7. The four-star forward is No. 18 in ESPN’s Top 100 recruiting rankings.

The 6-foot-3 Andrews plays at IMG Academy in Florida. Andrews helped guide IMG to a high school national championship in 2025, racking up 12 points and 13 rebounds in the win over Montverde.

Andrews was named to the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year Watchlist on Wednesday.

Andrews has already had success on the international level. In 2023, she won a gold medal in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship with Team USA after averaging 6.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and a team-leading 1.7 blocks. In 2024, she won another gold medal at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup after she averaged 2.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in seven games. She also participated in the Team USA U19 national team trials this year.

“Kelsi brings a unique combination of size, skill and versatility that perfectly fit how we want to play,” Staley said in a release. “Her basketball IQ, defensive presence and resilience make her a special addition to our Gamecock family. And, with her ability to score inside, stretch the floor with her 3-point shot and impact the game on both ends of the court, she has the potential to continue our legacy of elite frontcourt players.”

Kaeli Wynn — Santa Ana, California

Wynn committed to South Carolina on Nov. 10. The five-star forward is No. 17 in ESPN’s Top 100 recruiting rankings.

Wynn, listed at 6-foot-2, plays at Mater Dei High School in California. During her junior season she averaged 17 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists as Mater Dei was ranked No. 1 in the nation throughout the season.

Like Andrews, Wynn was named to the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year Watchlist on Wednesday.

“Coming from a basketball family, Kaeli’s IQ and appreciation for the game’s intricacies add another level to her physical skill set,” Staley said. “She has an unbelievable will to win, but her ability to involve everyone on the team and ensure buy-in to the team goals are what separates her from her peers. She is a perfect fit for our program.”
