Latest on Ta’Niya Latson, Alicia Tournebize ahead of Gamecocks WBB vs Georgia
No. 3 South Carolina women’s basketball will have nearly all of its players healthy for its matchup with Georgia on Sunday.
The Gamecocks’ official SEC injury report did not have guard Ta’Niya Latson listed on it when it was released Saturday night. Forward Alicia Tournebize, however, was still listed on the report.
Latson has missed the last three games with an ankle sprain. She has gradually ramped up from wearing a boot on the sideline to practicing with the Gamecocks.
“We’ll see how it feels tomorrow,” Staley told local media Friday. “If that lower leg injury doesn’t feel good tomorrow then we have to pull back. If it does, we’ll just continue to try to push through.”
Tournebize started practicing with the team this week after arriving from France on New Year’s Day. She’s been listed as out on the SEC injury report for South Carolina’s last two games but traveled with the Gamecocks to Florida last week and Arkansas on Thursday.
The 6-foot-7 forward was seen at practice on Wednesday but was not there Friday, as she was in her USC freshman orientation session.
