Former Gamecock Bree Hall lands latest WNBA opportunity. Here are the details
There are now 13 South Carolina women’s basketball alums playing in the WNBA.
Bree Hall became No. 13 after she was signed by the Indiana Fever on Monday. Hall fills the team’s final “player development” roster spot.
Development contracts are new for the 2026 WNBA season thanks to the league’s latest collective bargaining agreement. The contracts are for players with 0-3 years of WNBA service. Hall can participate in all the Fever’s training sessions, practices and travel but can only be on the active roster for 12 games this season.
Hall was selected by the Fever with the No. 20 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft. She was ultimately cut by the Fever before the start of the season. Hall went on to be signed and cut by the Golden State Valkyries twice last summer before she wound up back where she started and finished the year on a hardship contract with the Fever.
Hall made appearances in eight games (four in regular season and four in the playoffs) during her rookie season.
The Fever now have four former South Carolina players on the roster with the addition of Hall. She’s joined by rookie Raven Johnson, Aliyah Boston and Tyasha Harris.
